Celebrating Valentines at home!
With another event seemingly about to be stolen from us by the pandemic, we’re all becoming quite accustomed to spending all hours at home. In 2021, after almost a full year of of on and off national lockdowns, we think I’ts fair to say that the public have exhausted all inventive, creative and fun ways to keep things interesting! And whilst that may be true for everyday tasks, it’s certainly not for Valentines day! The question is, how do you make date night special when for some, every night last year had the potential to be date night!
Netflix Night
Netflix sometimes gets a bad rap, but if planned correctly, a night in front of family-favourite streaming service can be surprisingly fun. Before you surprise your partner with Netflix, make it special. It wont work if you present in the form of ‘dinner and telly’. Create a lineup of your partner’s favorite TV show episodes or rewatch that movie you saw on your third date. Whatever you do, don't make it a typical old TV night—add something special and sentimental to show you care!
Home Spa Day
With a few candles, massage oil and some facial masks (yes, the guys can get behind good skin care too), you can create a night of pampering for you and your partner. You can surprise them with a few massage tricks you've picked up on YouTube.
Board Game Night
When's the last time you and your partner sat down and played a board game? Pull out those old chess boards and checkers pieces and challenge your partner to a board game duel. Pick games specifically made for two players (think Scrabble, chess, or card games) and spend Valentine's Day brushing up on your favourite… although maybe avoid Monopoly unless you want to turn it into valentine week!
Order In!
Who says Valentine's Day has to be labor intensive? Give your partner a night off and order in from their favourite restaurant. If you’re the laid back type, then you should feel free to ignore all the above options - why waste time when you could be simply spending some time together with a treat of a dinner!
