One Year On: How COVID-19 has influenced moving decisions
Just over a year ago, the UK held their collective mouth wide open in shock as we watched our Prime Minister tell us we must stay at home. Shortly after this, we were placed into a national lockdown, legally enforcing this suggestion. While it may feel like a lifetime ago to some, It’s impossible to deny the amount of change this pandemic has brought with it in such a short amount of time.
The Latest News on Property Restrictions
With The Prime Minister’s announcement last evening, and along with the unveiled 4 step plan into releasing England from national lockdown, many of our landlords and tenants may be wondering how this affects the industry in which we operate. EPA are proud of how we’ve navigated each step of this pandemic, and each restriction as it’s presented to us. And with the UK looking to be leaving national lockdown in the coming months, we want to provide you with the latest updates.
Celebrating Valentines at home!
With another event seemingly about to be stolen from us by the pandemic, we’re all becoming quite accustomed to spending all hours at home. In 2021, after almost a full year of on and off national lockdowns, we think It’s fair to say that the public have exhausted all inventive, creative and fun ways to keep things interesting! Lockdown Learning from home!
When the coronavirus pandemic forced schools to abruptly shut down, people scrambled to make distance learning happen. Despite schools inevitably having planned for the drastic change, for parents and children alike it was emergency remote learning with the emphasis on “emergency,” rather than on “learning”. With the vast majority of our tenants being families, we thought we’d adapt our recent blog to help out the little ones too!

Despite Lockdown restrictions, most elements surrounding buying, selling, renting and moving homes have been kept the same with only with slight amendments in the interest of safety. Landlord Legislation due April 2021!
Being a landlord is an enormous responsibility. Not only are you responsible for certain upkeep elements, but it is your undeniable duty to ensure the safety of tenants whom reside in your property. With this in mind, from 2021, there will be a requirement for any properties rented out in the private rented sector to have an Electrical Safety Inspection Certificate for the property. The regulations will come into force for new lets and renewals of tenancies with effect from 1st April 2021.
